Dr. Anil Dhuna provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for complex neurological and sleep disorders. His clinical expertise includes Electromyography and Nerve Conduction Studies (EMG/NCV), EEG and sleep study interpretation, and BOTOX® therapy for chronic migraine, spasticity, and dystonia.
Dr. Dhuna earned his medical degree from the University of Wales, Cardiff, graduating first in his class with multiple distinctions and honors. He completed his Neurology Residency and Epilepsy Fellowship at the University of Minnesota, followed by a PET Imaging Fellowship. Board-certified in Neurology, Sleep Medicine, and Headache Medicine, Dr. Dhuna has served as Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Minnesota and currently holds an appointment as Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Iowa.
Since establishing Burlington Neurology & Sleep Clinic in 1994, Dr. Dhuna has been dedicated to advancing neurological care for patients across Southeast Iowa, Central Iowa, and Western Illinois. He also serves as Director of the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center and Jefferson County Health Center ACHC-Accredited Sleep Disorders Center and provides consultative services at several regional hospitals.
Dr. Dhuna has published extensively in leading neurology journals and presented at national and international conferences. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN) and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (FAASM), and has served on the Education Committee of the American Academy of Neurology and the Board of the Iowa Neurological Association, including as its past president.
Beyond his medical work, Dr. Dhuna and his family have embraced the kindness of Iowa, where he raised his three children. In his free time, he enjoys long walks with his golden retriever, Moose.
