Dr. Rahul Khanna provides comprehensive evaluation and management of a wide range of neurological conditions and performs diagnostic procedures including EEG, EMG/Nerve Conduction Studies, and skin biopsy for small fiber neuropathy and alpha-synucleinopathy. Dr. Khanna also offers therapeutic procedures such as BOTOX® injections for chronic migraine and spasticity, as well as occipital nerve and trigger point blocks.
Dr. Khanna earned his medical degree from Government Medical College, Amritsar, India, and completed his Neurology Residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, followed by a Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
He is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology, and by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine in Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He is also a Fellow Member of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM). is a board-certified neurologist specializing in general neurology, clinical neurophysiology, and electrodiagnostic medicine. r. Khanna serves as Director of the Memory Disorders Clinic and Director of Neurology Education at Iowa Neurology & Sleep Clinic. He holds academic appointments as a Preceptor at Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences and serves on multiple state and national committees, including the Iowa Neurological Association Board of Directors and the AANEM Clinical Publications and Review Committee.
Actively engaged in research and education, Dr. Khanna has published peer-reviewed studies in leading neurology journals and presented nationally on topics in epilepsy, neuromuscular disease, and neurophysiology.
Dr. Khanna lives in Burlington with his wife and two daughters and is proud to serve communities throughout Iowa.
